Clinton A. Ober - Founder and Director
Clinton Ober is the founder of Earth FX and inventor of the Barefoot Connections™ technology. Born in Iowa and raised in Montana, Mr. Ober spent his youth contributing to the family’s ranching business. He developed a love of nature and a deep connection with the earth.
In the early 1960’s, Mr. Ober began a career in the fledging CATV (cable) television industry. During his four-year tenure as National Director of Marketing for Denver-based Telecommunications Inc. (TCI), the company grew to become the largest CATV operator in the U.S.
After leaving TCI in 1972, Mr. Ober formed Telecrafter Corporation. The company specialized in developing CATV systems, broadcast television, and microwave communication properties. Telecrafter grew to become the largest provider of CATV marketing and installations services in the U.S. It went public in 1980 and four years later merged with Wegener Communications Inc. of Atlanta.
In the early 1980’s, Mr. Ober recognized the significance of the personal computer and formed X.Press Information Services. The company entered into a partnership agreement with TCI and McGraw Hill, eventually securing the distribution rights of every major wire service in the world.
In 1993, after suffering a serious illness, Mr. Ober retired to pursue personal interests. During this time he reconnected with his childhood roots, and discovered the concept of “Earthing™” which led to the development of Barefoot Connections™ and the founding of Earth FX.
